Gene Graves recently received the prestigious Metropolitan Omaha Builders Association’s
“2017 Hall of Fame Award” for his dedicated service of more than 30 years to the development and home building Industry.
Giving back is important to Gene and he sits on The Builder Foundation Board of Trustees. Through scholarships and personal mentoring the Foundation funds and guides high school and community college students educational pursuits in the design and building trades.
Gene, his wife Mary, and children are proud to call Omaha ‘home’.

Following MBA and BSBA degrees from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Gene Graves has spent his entire adult career in the development, building and real estate industry. His companies have built more than 500 new homes for satisfied customers. He likes to do things from the “ground up” which shows in his record of developing eleven neighborhoods with over 4,500 home sites, including Waterford, Bellbrook, and The Willows. His newest upscale developments include Springfield Pines in Springfield Nebraska and Bridgeport located in Gretna Nebraska
Throughout the industry Gene Graves has been admired and respected by peers for his many successes and industry contributions. Early in his career he served as Chief Executive Officer of the Metropolitan Omaha Builders Association (MOBA). Gene created in 1985 the well-known Street of Dreams, and managed several other events such as the annual Parade of Homes and yearly Home Shows.

He’s served on the Boards of Directors of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), and on state and local homebuilders associations. Because of his experience and expertise he has been selected to serve and chair public committees within Omaha city government on building code enforcement and traffic control within neighborhoods. He’s made expert instructional presentations before licensed Realtors, and before builders and developers at the national convention of the National Association of Home Builders. He has accepted a request to speak on an educational panel at the 2016 NAHB convention for builders and developers.
