Halloween is just around the corner, which means it’s time to start planning your festivities. One of the best ways to celebrate the season is by touring a haunted house experience in the Omaha Metro Area. If you’re up for serious thrills and chills, you don’t want a run-of-the-mill haunted house, you want something that’s bone-chillingly scary. Well, if you live in or around the Omaha area, or if you’re planning a trip to Omaha, you’re in luck, because there are some pretty terrific haunted houses to visit.

What is the Scariest Haunted House in Omaha?

Listed below are some of the best haunted houses in the Omaha area that are guaranteed to terrify. Just be forewarned: your hair may turn white!

Ranch of Terror

Open on weekends starting September 17, 2022, through Halloween, the Ranch of Terror offers more than an hour of constant frights. Located at the Bellevue Berry and Pumpkin Ranch, it’s the longest haunted attraction in the state of Nebraska. Every year, the producers of this chilling adventure invest thousands of dollars and countless hours of their time in order to make sure that they deliver a spine-chilling experience.

At the Ranch of Terror, you’ll walk through twisted hallways in a haunted house that really feels like it’s alive. There are even haunted caves to explore, as well as a zombie jail, and an utterly fright-inducing hayrack ride through the woods in the dark.

Scary Acres

Also open on weekends starting September 17, 2022, until Halloween night, is Scary Acres. Scary Acres is one of the most anticipated haunted attractions in all of Omaha. Scary Acres feature three spine-tingling attractions, including a Haunted Woods, a Master’s Castle, and a House on the Hill. Once you’ve finished your adventure (if you survive, that is), you can gather around the bonfire and munch on a snack until the blood returns to your body and your heart rate slows a bit.

Madness Haunted House

With a schedule that varies from October 1 through October 31, Madness Haunted House is located in Council Bluffs. The Madness Haunted House seems to have been taken over by a paranormal presence that feeds off the fear of others. It’s the only haunted attraction in Council Bluffs, and it’s said to be one of the freakiest, creepiest ones in the Omaha area.

Haunted Hollow

From September 24 through October 31, you can test your ability to withstand fear at Haunted Hollow. What starts out as a sweet adventure with fried Twinkies, caramel apples, and funnel cakes, quickly turns into a bone-chilling experience when you step inside the three-story haunted house.

Haunted Hollow also features a barn maze with obstacles that are sure to terrify, exhilarating roller coasters, and a Whack Shack. There’s even a station where you can have your tarot cards read. If you want to unwind, pull up a chair under the stars and watch the nightly film while warming up around the bonfire.
